# Confluences

Mean reversion signals are incredibly potent, but they carry inherent risk if traded blindly. The Mean Reversion Index should be combined with tools that confirm momentum shifts.

* **Bullish Divergences**: A drop into the -2σ Buy Zone is a macro signal. Look for RSI or MACD bullish divergences on lower timeframes (e.g., 4H or 1D) within that Buy Zone to time your exact entry.
* **Support and Resistance**: If the asset enters the -2σ Buy Zone exactly as it tests a multi-year structural support level or a major liquidity pool, the probability of a successful mean reversion trade skyrockets.
* **Macro Sentiment**: Pair this with the Macro Credit Model or Sector ETF Flows. If the Mean Reversion Index is in a Buy Zone but macro credit spreads are still blowing out into "Stress," be patient. Wait for credit markets to stabilize before buying the dip.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.candelacharts.com/investing/momentum-and-oscillators/mean-reversion-index/confluences.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
